This week’s Geek Girl Riot is so packed with the good stuff—the wrap up on Zack Snyder’s Justice League, plus The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, AND Irresistible—that our recording systems actually overheated. So there are a few technical hiccups…but our Rioters, as always, are here to get you fired up.

Final thoughts on Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Now that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is out there for you to clear your entire day’s schedule and watch, our Rioters can finally talk about it where spoilers abound (if you want our spoiler-free episode, listen here). Sherin, Julian, Philip, and Mae get into the highs and lows, the new layers of characters, and why this version makes a better case for the DCEU (even if it takes forever and a day to get there).

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier debuted on Friday and gave us more depth to the characters of Sam and Bucky along with some huge action thrills. Our hosts give their first impressions, compare it to WandaVision and the rest of the MCU, before breaking down Sam’s heroic journey and Bucky’s redemptive arc. Catch new episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier every Friday on Disney+.

Invincible
Amazon’s new animated series Invincible is coming on Wednesday to punch you in the face with impressive superhero hijinks—and our Rioters are here to get you buckled up and ready to go. Sherin says: “This is everything I wanted The Boys series to be. An incisive, unblinking, shocking, and bloody look at the downside of superheroes and it has jokes too. I cannot wait to inhale the rest of the series.” Our hosts get into why Invincible is definitely a superhero show for adults, complete with the gloriously gory action scenes and deep dives into superhero-dom. Oh, and you might want to watch it with a friend, or as Sherin says: “I had to pause to go get a blanket and a unicorn (for comfort) BUT I didn’t stop watching. I couldn’t stop watching Invincible.”

EXTRA: The Joker
But wait…there’s more! We had so much to say this week that we couldn’t fit into the on air show, so on this version you’ll get a lil extra—and it’s all about Jared Leto’s Joker…

Tune in to Geek Girl Riot on idobi Radio every Tuesday at 11pm ET / 8pm PT for your dose of late-night geekery from our team of rioters. ’Til next time, see a list of everything our Rioters talked about below:
