White Stripes Finish New Album In Two Weeks

Only two weeks after they started, White Stripes have finished recording their new album and are planning its release date.

Jack White planned on finishing up this release fairly quickly in his home studio with Meg White. The pair completed the recording on March 18, after recording a song a day. They still have to mix and master it, according to NME.com.

The band recorded their last record, Elephant, in 10 days and White completed Loretta Lynn ‘s Grammy-winning Van Lear Rose in 12 days. As usual, White used analogue equipment was used for to record the album.

So far the record doesn’t have a release date or a name, but the band want to have it out in time for the Glastonbury Festival. Although the line-up for the festival hasn’t been announced, Coldplay and The Killers are rumoured to be among those who will perform. Festival organizer Michael Eavis has confirmed appearances by the Stripes, Kylie and Brian Wilson.
