Sex Pistols add two more gigs to reunion tour

Punk rock legends the Sex Pistols have added two more dates to their comeback tour after the first three gigs at London’s Brixton Academy sold out in minutes.

The band, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal album “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols,” had originally planned a single London appearance on November 8, but that was extended to three nights.

On Wednesday the group, which split in 1978 shortly before the death of bassist Sid Vicious, announced they would play a fourth concert in Brixton on November 12 and a fifth at Manchester’s M.E.N. Arena on November 17.

The group played at Manchester’s Lesser Free Trade Hall in 1976, an event described by the late music promoter Tony Wilson as “nothing short of an epiphany.”

Tickets for the two extra shows go on sale at 9 a.m. (0800 GMT) on Friday, September 28, priced at 37.50 pounds.
