Michael Jackson's Invincible Due October 30

Though some fans may not believe it until they see it in stores, Michael Jackson’s first full album of original material in 10 years, Invincible, is slated for an October 30 release.

The album will include “You Rock My World,” its first single, and the track “Speechless,” according to a statement released Thursday (August 23) by Epic Records. No other song titles were mentioned.

Two New York radio stations leaked the string-heavy, Off the Wall-style “You Rock My World” last week (see “Michael Jackson Rocks Fans’ Worlds (A Little Early)”).

Director Paul Hunter (Lenny Kravitz, P. Diddy, LL Cool J) helmed a “short film” for “You Rock My World,” according to Epic, which didn’t divulge a release date for the video.

Jackson’s last full-length album was 1991’s Dangerous, followed by the hits-plus-new-tracks collections HIStory: Past, Present, and Future, Book I (1995) and Blood on the Dance Floor: History in the Mix (1997).

After a long absence, Jackson will return to the concert stage on September 7 and 10 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The two shows, billed as Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration, The Solo Years, will include a Jackson 5 reunion and performances by Britney Spears, Aaron Carter, Whitney Houston and many others.

Epic sources said earlier that “Unbreakable,” “The Lost Children” and “Privacy” were slated for possible inclusion on Invincible.
