‘N Sync premiered ‘BIGGER THAN LIVE’, the giant screen version of the group’s ‘No Strings Attached’ tour at the IMAX theatre at LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTRE yesterday (March 30).
The group arrived with a fleet of limousines and heavy security presence, and faced a barrage of media attention as they walked the 200-metre red carpet outside the cinema. Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick quipped: “I see they have a lot of popcorn around. I really want nachos. Can I get nachos?”
Justin Timberlake said: “This is a way for all our fans to experience the front row experience.” He declined to answer questions about his possible role as The Scarecrow in Fox television’s hip-hop adaptation of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’, and asked which member of rival boyband Backstreet Boys could play Dorothy he just smiled and said nothing.
Lance Bass said ‘N Sync’s new album – which they have been recording with The Neptunes – is shaping up to be “cool.” It is slated for June release.
The 48-minute film featured the hits ‘No Strings Attached’, ‘Tearing Up My Heart’ and ‘Bye Bye Bye’, was primarily filmed at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan during the group’s ‘No Strings Attached’ tour last year. Other concert performances include Hershey, Pennsylvania and Cincinnati, Ohio.
The film was produced by Jonathan Sanger (‘The Elephant Man’) and Ed Elbert(‘Anna and the King’), both partners of Really Big Film(TM) Corporation in Hollywood. Other film credits between the two include Mission Impossible II, Star Wars and The Omen.
The boys may be back in movie theatres soon, there are rumours that the band could feature in Grease 3!
Celebs at the premiere included Rosanna Arquette, Rachel Hunter and Amanda deCadanet.
The band later moved on to a party hosted by Dolce & Gabbana at the hip Blue club in Hollywood with DJ AM and DJ Dave Orlando.
