Korn's Fieldy To Stick With His Hip-Hop Dream

Fieldy’s Dreams was hardly a home run when the project debuted early this year, but the Korn bassist is not about to hang up his hip-hop hat. At Saturday’s ESPN Action Sports and Music Awards, where he performed in an all-star rap-rock band with Jay-Z and others, Fieldy said he planned to start work on his second solo album sometime this year.

“[Korn is time-consuming], yeah, but we have a lot of downtime,” Fieldy said before the show. “So there will probably be some more stuff from me.”

Fieldy, a self-described Rock N Roll Gangster, has been staying up in the hip-hop game by collaborating with other rappers. He most recently recorded with West Coast mainstays E-40 and DJ Quik for their upcoming releases.

Meanwhile, Korn will release Untouchables on June 11 and promote it with a summer tour. The band recently teamed with directors Albert and Allen Hughes for the video for its first single, “Here to Stay,” which Fieldy said has outlets concerned because of news footage that is interspersed with shots of Korn.

“I don’t know if you are going to see it or not,” Fieldy said. “It’s just everything that’s happening in the world today. It’s not nothing that you won’t see on any channel. I don’t know what’s happening with it, though.” Korn’s spokesperson did not return calls.

Fieldy’s Dreams’ Rock N Roll Gangster has sold only 16,000 copies, according to SoundScan. Korn’s most recent release, 1999’s Issues, moved 3.05 million units.
