Godsmack's Erna Wins Big On Patriots Super Bowl Triumph

Boston-area band Godsmack is celebrating the Super Bowl victory of hometown football team the New England Patriots, who beat the St. Louis Rams on Sunday (February 3).

Singer Sully Erna revealed that he won $1,750 on the Patriots. “A friend of mine called in the bet and I think it went through (Las) Vegas, but it was… I’m kind of bummed, I guess. Last week they were paying 950-if you bet the game straight up, no points, they were paying 950 for every hundred, and then it went down to five for every hundred. And then I called in thinking I could get the five, but we missed it by like 10 minutes, and it ended up locking in at 350 for every hundred if you bet it straight up, so I put 500 down and I won 1,750,” he said.

Meanwhile, Godsmack continues its winning ways: The band was nominated for six Boston Music Awards last week. The band has also released “I Stand Alone,” a track recorded specifically for The Scorpion King soundtrack, which comes out February 26.
