The woman who accused Celine Dion’s husband of rape has been arrested for check forgery in California. Yun Kyeong Sung Kwon was arrested in Pasadena on a check forgery warrant issued in Las Vegas. She’s being held on $500,000 bail. No other details are known.
In March, Kwon filed a civil lawsuit against Dion’s husband, Rene Angelil, accusing him of raping her in Las Vegas in March 2000. Las Vegas police investigated four days later.
Angelil’s lawyers have called the allegations false and the lawsuit ridiculous. One of Angelil’s lawyers says he hopes the Las Vegas police consider Kwon’s arrest in evaluating her credibility and motivation.
