Dave Grohl To Direct Video For New Foo Single

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will step behind the camera to direct the first video from the band’s new album.

The clip for “All My Life” is scheduled to be filmed in Los Angeles the week of August 12, according to the band’s publicist.

The song has been tapped as the first single from the Foo Fighters’ fourth album, 1 X 1 (“One By One”), due October 22. Hardly an amateur when it comes to directing, Grohl also helmed the videos for “Monkey Wrench” and “My Hero,” both from 1997’s The Colour and the Shape.

Besides recording tunes for 1 X 1, a track list for which has not been finalized, the band has also tracked covers of songs by the Psychedelic Furs, Prince and the Ramones. Where those songs wind up, however, is still unknown, though they’re not expected to surface on the new album, which follows 1999’s There Is Nothing Left to Lose.

News of Grohl’s latest directorial endeavor comes less than a week after he played his last show with the Queens of the Stone Age, with whom he played drums both in the studio and on tour.
