Carson Daly and Steve Rifkind Form New Label Under Loud Records

Carson Daly and Loud Records CEO Steve Rifkind recently sealed a deal to form a new label that will be distributed and marketed by Loud, whose roster includes the Wu-tang Clan, Xzibit, Three 6 Mafia, and Funkmaster Flex.

Daly’s label, still unnamed, will develop promising talent from across the world focusing on every genre of music. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to run my own label,” Daly said. “I’m always looking for new sounds, and my label will allow me to share some of the hottest up-and-coming talent with the world.”

Loud Records CEO Steve Rifkind and Loud Executive VP Jonathan Rifkind knew Daly years before he became one of America’s most important pop culture tastemakers. The Rifkinds recognized Daly’s ear for talent while he was DJing in California and have been impressed with his drive to deliver the best music to America on his highly rated MTV and NBC, and syndicated radio programs.

“With Carson’s worldwide popularity and his genuine love and knowledge of music, this venture should definitely be a blockbuster,” Steve Rifkind says. “We’re betting that he’ll be able to attract the best talent from across the globe, from rock to hip-hop.”

In addition to being one of the most significant label launches in recent history, Daly’s new imprint realizes a long-term goal between Daly and the Rifkinds.

“I’ve known Steve and Jonathan for years,” Daly says. “We’ve always talked about working together, and this is a perfect scenario given their tremendous success as a pioneering record label.”

Formed in 1992, Loud Records has established itself as one of urban music’s most important labels, releasing universally acclaimed and chart-topping records from the Wu-Tang Clan, Xzibit, Three 6 Mafia, Raekwon and Project Pat, among others.

Daly’s label is actively scouting for new talent, and has several artists currently in the studio recording demos.
