Beverly Hills Film Studios Announces Strategic Alliance with Award-Winning Music Production Company Touch-Tone Productions
LOS ANGELES-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Dec. 21, 2004-Beverly Hills Film Studios Inc. (OTC: BVHJ) management is pleased to announce today a joint alliance with Touch-Tone Productions, a California-based music production company. With special focus on the production of music for movie soundtracks, Beverly Hills Film Studios Inc. (BHFS) has teamed with Touch-Tone as producers/composers. Touch-Tone is a dynamic conduit to the music industry and will be involved in all aspects of film music development and production, song placements and recording artist representation packaging for a number of pictures that BHFS will be producing in the next coming years.
Since 1985, Touch-Tone Productions has earned its reputation as an innovative leader within the music recording industry, as a full-service production company specializing in music for motion picture soundtracks, television and major record labels. In addition, it has established itself in the record industry as a multifacet music production company producing a multitude of music genres such as urban and adult contemporary, rock, alternative rock, jazz and classical.
Touch-Tone has positioned itself in the entertainment industry with an international reputation for earning platinum and gold album hits. Its team of producers, composers, arrangers, songwriters, recording engineers and a number of renowned session musicians are seasoned industry veterans and young savvy executives.
The founders of Touch-Tone, Jim Gardiner and Paula Telander, have been working together as a team for more than 14 years. Their experience and expertise in the music industry includes performing, writing, composing, producing and publishing, and has enabled them to finance, design, develop and own Pajama Recording Studios, the first world-class, state-of-the-art commercial recording facility in Oakland, Calif.
Telander has significant film and music video artistic credits, both as a producer and choreographer, and has been associated with such productions as “Synchronicity,” an award-winning short film by Industrial Light and Magic (ILM); “America’s Most Wanted”, a Cameron Casey production; “Streets of San Francisco”; and “Secret Agent Man,” a Funhouse Films production, among others.
Gardiner is a multitalented producer, accomplished composer, arranger, award-wining recording engineer and businessman with a well-established 30-year career in the music and recording industries. In recognition of his talents, he has achieved 42 gold and platinum album awards as a music producer and recording engineer utilizing his recording studios and music production enterprises. Most recently, Pajama’s client, John Lee Hooker Jr., “Blues with a Vengeance,” son of legendary blues artist John Lee Hooker, won the prestigious 2004 Outstanding Blues Album Award at the 27th Annual Northern California Music Awards. Hooker is now nominated for a Grammy Award for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards in the field of BLUES for The Best Traditional Blues Album released in 2004. Gardiner and Pajama Recording Studios share in this Grammy Award nomination for engineering the recording and mixing of the album.
As a child protege, Gardiner’s gifted talents were discovered at the age of 12, which enabled him to study at the famed Cornish College of the Arts with jazz composer Stanley King, classical composer Lochram Johnson, and jazz pianist and music theorist Jerry Gray until the age of 18. Gardiner was the founder of the contemporary jazz orchestra for Seattle, winning him the “DownBeat” magazine Hall of Fame scholarship of composition and was awarded a four-year full term to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. At the same time, Gardiner was selected to study privately, the art of film composition, with famed European master composer Bonia Shur, which he chose instead. Gardiner was commissioned to compose and conduct several works for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Following his studies, Gardiner was selected and appointed as composer-in-residence for the state of Washington, taught college-level music and composition, developed and produced many young recording artists and musicians such as Kenny G, EnVogue, Rosie Gaines and Sheila E, just to name a few. Gardiner became one of West Coast’s most accomplished and acclaimed professional composers. He has won numerous awards for excellence in his field.
