Beatles Tribute Tour Offers Two Concerts In One

The second annual Beatles tribute tour, dubbed A Walk Down Abbey Road – A Tribute To The Beatles, kicks off again next month. The incredible success of the inaugural tour last year prompted the show producer Paul Zukoski to put it back on the road this summer, and with a few new artists added to the lineup. New artists this year include Jack Bruce of Cream, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, and Christopher Cross. Returning players include Todd Rundgren and Alan Parsons.

Zukoski explains the format of the show. “The first half of the show, we load it up with all the people we have on the show-all the stars-and they’re doing their own hits the first half of the show. The second half is all Beatles songs,” he says. “The thing is, most people have not heard these Beatles songs performed, especially by the Beatles. They haven’t been performed, most of them, Beatles only doing a couple of tours-everything after ’69, you know what I mean, they’ve never seen it live on stage.”

A Walk Down Abbey Road – A Tribute To The Beatles kicks off June 24 at Humphrey’s in San Diego.
