Hello and welcome to Singles Lost in Time, where we dig through our library here at idobi (like monks sifting through historical texts) and we dust off some absolute bangers that never got their proper time in the sun.
Rufio – “Out of Control”
Sporting a technical precision rarely seen in pop-punk, Rufio wore their metal influences on their sleeves. “Out of Control” was the most radio ready single the band offered but the lead guitar lick was clearly forged in the fires of Metallica and Megadeth. Rufio originally gained popularity via skate videos, so dust off that mp3 player and grind one out for the homies.
Audio Karate – “Nintendo 89”
Through bright guitars, punk rhythms, and emo lyrics, Audio Karate was a respite for disillusioned teens. The mid-2000s alternative pop-punk scene rode the wave they were fostering. “Nintendo 89” has livewire energy and tasty hooks begging for a body to dance with.
