Pause On J&J Vaccine

The CDC and FDA have recommended a pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in the United States. This comes as a result of a rare type of blood clot that has been reported in over six cases of women between the ages of 18 and 48. Johnson & Johnson released a statement saying that they would “proactively delay the rollout” of the vaccine in Europe. While these blood clots may be rare, it’s advised that anyone who received this vaccine contact their health provider if they’re experiencing severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after vaccination.
